ABOUT US
RAPAPAWN is an experimental animation studio founded in 2017 by Óscar Raña and Cynthia Alfonso. Its work articulates a psychedelic visual language, constructed frame by frame through surreal imagery, frenetic editing, and a distinctive use of color, alongside abstract and geometric forms.

He has self-published several fanzines, including Anterior; Seguinte (2022) and HUS-PLOT EH (2025), and is the author of MANGY MUTT (his first full-length comic, 2019), published by Fosfatina, as well as Yo, si; yo, no (2025), released by Último Mono Ediciones.
His work has been presented in exhibitions such as Xa foi (mais é) (first solo show, Sala Alterarte, 2019), MiiC – Mostra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea (Afundación, Santiago de Compostela, 2020), Correspondences (Silk Gallery, Madrid, 2021), Un, dous; un, dous (solo exhibition, Tinta nos nervos, Lisbon, 2022), Unha leira de millo (with Cynthia Alfonso, SVT Espazo de Arte, Vigo, 2022), and ¡Eso no es cómic! Fanzines: vanguardia e innovación del cómic en España (IVAM, Valencia, 2025).
He has worked with clients including WeTransfer, Vimeo, Apple, and It’s Nice That, and with musical artists such as Cuco and Mujeres.

She collaborated in different magazines, such as Island#13 of Image comics, Real life of Snap Ink, Don’t Panic, Mold magazine, Gossamer, Ventoline, Mondo Zero, Kiblind, Standart or Actual source. She also participated in anthologies such as Hoodoo Voodoo from Fosfatina, NOW#4 and #12 from Fantagraphics or ColdCube004 from ColdCube Press.
She has worked for companies like Apple, The New York Times, Snapchat, Figma, Dept or Vinyl me, please! doing the art for the vinyl of Room on Fire the The Strokes. She also worked with music bands like Holy Fuck, Holy Hive or Morabeza Tabacco, among others.
His exhibition project could be seen in cities such as Madrid, Paris, Los Ángeles, Treviso or Amsterdam.
